Claude can build a complete website, but on claude.ai the most it can do with it is share a link on Claude's own address. To host it properly, at a real address with your own domain name, hand the same site to Claude Code or to the Claude app with DashPloy added as a connector. Claude then publishes it for you, and hosting it is free.

What Claude can do on its own
Ask Claude for a website and it writes the pages, shows you a preview, and lets you keep refining it in the conversation. That part is genuinely good.
What it cannot do from a browser tab is put the site anywhere else. A published artifact lives at an address on claude.ai. It cannot carry a domain name you own, and it is one page rather than a site you can keep growing. For a quick demo that is fine. For a business page, a portfolio or anything you want people to find again, it is not the same as a website.

With Claude Code
- Sign up with a Google account. Your code is on your dashboard straight away, with a copy button.
- Open Claude Code and paste the line from your dashboard. It tells Claude to read our instructions first, so it knows how to publish before it builds.
- Describe the site: "A one-page site for my dog-walking business in Bristol, with my prices, my phone number and a photo."
- Claude builds it, publishes it, and gives you the address. If anything goes wrong, it is told exactly what to fix, and fixes it without asking you.
In the Claude app, with nothing to install
- Add DashPloy as a connector, using this address:

- Confirm on our page, which lists exactly what the connection can do.
- Ask for your website in the chat. Claude writes it and publishes it from inside the conversation.
Already built it on claude.ai?
You have lost nothing. The files are the valuable part, and they are already written. Ask Claude for every file of the site, then give those files and the one line to Claude Code or to a chat with the connector. Do not start again.
If you are not paying for Claude
Ask Claude for the files anyway, then open Antigravity, Google's coding agent, which is free. Paste the same line, hand it the files, and it publishes them. Publishing here costs nothing on the free plan either.
Your own domain name
Once the site is live, it has a free address ending in .dashploy.app. The
free plan also includes one custom domain, so a name you already own can point
at it without paying anything. Ask Claude to connect it, and it will tell you
the one or two records to add where you bought the name.

Questions people ask
Can Claude host a website?
Only as a link on claude.ai, which is Claude's address rather than yours. To host it on an address of your own, Claude Code or a Claude connector sends it to a host that can.
Does the site stay online if I stop paying for Claude?
Yes. The site is hosted here, not inside Claude. It stays online whichever assistant you use next, and any assistant that can publish here can change it.
Can Claude build something with a login or a database?
Yes. A site that saves what visitors send, or has accounts, needs code that runs on a server, and that is included on the free plan. Say what it should do and Claude builds that half too.
